Shalom! My name is Rabbi Patrick and this is First Steps – A Simple Introduction to Judaism.

A unique, three part series available nowhere else online, this crash course on Jewish concepts was created to help people who have limited experience (or no experience) in Judaism to understand Jewish ideas and the Jewish people. These are your first steps toward understanding who the Jewish people are, what we believe and what is meaningful to us.

In this series, we will answer three basic ideas: what do Jews believe, how does our belief impact how we live, and how do we connect with each other as a people?

What’s Included

Believing: Jewish understandings of God, including the concept of monotheism, how Judaism has perceived God’s attributes, and the role of prayer in Jewish tradition.

Behaving: Torah in Jewish tradition, including its meaning, purpose, and different types of sacred literature, and more importantly how that impacts daily life

Belonging: the concept of Israel, including its meaning as a person, a place, and a people.

We also have some bonus content for each section, just to keep to fun going.

Thank you for letting us be part of your literal first steps in a greater Jewish journey.
