Personal statement

I’m honored to be with Darshan Yeshiva and I’m very excited to meet you!

A lifelong Conservative Jew, I was born and raised in New York. I began my career in the Jewish community as a teenager, joining and later becoming president of my synagogue’s chapter of the United Synagogue Youth. From youth director to Hebrew school teacher to Rebbetzin (the wife of a rabbi*) to b’nai mitzvah (coming-of-age ceremony) instructor and Adult Education teacher to co-owner of a Judaica store to Executive Director to Rabbi, I have a passion for doing keruv (outreach) to anyone and everyone seeking to learn about our heritage – Jews and other-than-Jews alike.

I love to do outreach with people of all ages and stages, always seeking to convey my love for the treasure that is Judaism, combined with my goal of embracing and welcoming those who are drawn to our religion and to our traditions. I’ve been privileged to teach prospective Jews, and I’ve taught numerous subjects to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. It doesn’t matter whether you have a lot, a little, or no prior knowledge of Judaism. My goal is to be with you on this journey, so that it may result in a meaningful and lasting part of who you are and of who you might like to be.

*My late husband was Rabbi Joseph Wise (z”l).
