In this series, students will gain an over view of Midrash: what is it, what is it for and what does it do? More specifically, students will focus on the distinction between Halacha and Aggadah, how the Rabbis read scripture, midrashim as sermons, and more. Different midrashim will be looked at in depth to understand what the rabbis were trying to do with these Jewish legends, and perhaps how they can be useful to our Jewish lives.
