I was ordained in 1980 and have served pulpits in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. I have worked with a wide variety of conversion candidates throughout my entire career. I embrace all converts regardless of family background or sexual orientation. My interests transcend the synagogue and have served on many committees, both within the Jewish and general communities. My interfaith work and concern for social justice issues has been the hallmark of my rabbinate. In September, 2015, I published a book entitled, The Ballad of East and West. It falls under the genre of historical fiction and based on my Soviet Jewry work in the early 1980s.

In my spare time, I read extensively, attend plays and concerts, and various sports events, and travel. At present, I am working on the sequel to my first book.
