Having walked away from traditional Judaism at age 15, I returned to Progressive Judaism at age 24. This makes me a Jew by choice, in a way, as well. As a non-dualistic Jew (no separation between G-d and creation), I support personal growth. I believe that G-d is closest to those with a broken heart, so gravitate toward a counseling type of rabbinate. As a student and teacher of kabbalah, I also believe that divinity is within, when we turn down the monkey chatter in our mind, tone down ego and open our hearts to the unity and connection between all things – Adonai Echad – G-d is One.
