Rabbi Ron Herstik

A native of Israel, Rabbi Herstik is the son of Czechoslovakian Holocaust survivors, who immigrated to Israel as part of a Haganah unit in 1948. Educated at UCLA, University of Southern California, ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and Brown University, Rabbi Herstik has served as a chaplain at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Sharp Hospital system in San Diego, California, as well as founding Congregation Dor Hadash (A New Generation) in San Diego. With the completion of his nine year service and retirement as the Senior Rabbi of Congregation Dor Tamid in Johns Creek, Georgia in 2013, Rabbi Ron Herstik entered a new phase of his thirty-six year rabbinic career. His participation in the Jewish as well as the Atlanta community at large now continues under the aegis of his newly founded “Synagogue Without Walls” located in Johns Creek, Georgia
