I thought that Darshan Yeshiva was a wonderful concept and a much needed outlet for people who were serious about taking leadership roles in their Jewish communities.
I have have been a teacher for 23 years and I have always loved teaching Torah. There is something very special for me when I sit down with a piece of Torah text, whether it be simply reading through the weekly Torah portion or preparing a section of Torah for studying. I have been told that I am a very close reader of the text and that I find questions within the words of the text with great ease. I find that the more I study the Torah the more meaning I find within its words.
So when I teach I try to share my excitement and enthusiasm for the Torah text. That is why I became involved in Darshan Yeshiva.
I found the format of the Darshan Yeshiva refreshing and cutting edge. I loved the idea that people could enroll and learn at their own pace while still feeling that they were in a learning environment.
Ultimately I would love for my students to love the study of Torah as much as I do and to find the nuances and lessons.
I hope that you all always continue to learn and grow!
